Loving these. The zipper on the side makes getting into them about as easy as getting into an already-worn pair of shoes. When I say "combat boot" this is the platonic ideal you conjure in your mind. They look like if the idea of combat boots for fashion were pulled from that image to reality. The proportions are just right. I will say that if you're concerned about them being too small or narrow (which as a big girl I always am), don't be. I normally wear men's size 12 or women's size 14, wide, these are size 12 with no 'wide' option and the toebox is consistently roomy in ways I don't expect, especially if I don't make sure to take a moment to lace them pretty tight. The general advice that boots run slightly big is correct in this case, though it's slight, nothing an insole couldn't fix if I really wanted to, and even if I didn't, not the end of the world. I haven't noticed any significant discomfort in them that I wouldn't expect from breaking in any other shoe, and I've done all sorts of things in these, including breaking them in via going clubbing for some hours, so they've gotten a workout and these things still look good and haven't beaten my feet up. gf's eyes got big when these arrived and are slightly bigger now as the most minor wear imaginable is still cause to possibly get them cleaned & polished up. Altogether, these were a wise purchase, I eat in these.
