I know these aren't "practical" shoes, but they could be more comfortable. There is a reason toe boxes are rounded and not square. My big toes sometimes hit the front of the toe box when walking. Also, where the panel that contains the laces ends can dig into your feet if you have thicker feet like mine. I put some orthidics in mine for more stability so maybe that impacted my experience with the tightness... I will say if you have thicker ankles, you can adjust the size at the top a bit but not much. I am 5'3'' and 220lbs with mildly thick ankles and I am on the loosest setting. I will definitely still wear the heck out of these shoes because they are so flipping cool and cute! Easy to walk in. Stable. Makes me feel so tall. I would buy more shoes like these.
